Events
Arts and Sciences Student Appreciation Days
This is an annual event held each Spring semester to reward the students of the college for their hard work. This year we are expanding the events beyond one day to include activities, a speaker, music and food, all provided by the ASSAB.
Dean's Tea
Each Fall Semester Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's office are invited to meet with the ASSAB. This is a time for open discussion between the students and Dean's office Faculty for students to better understand the role of the Dean's office and ask any questions they may have. The ASSAB provides food and beverage for the event, which occurs during a regularly scheduled meeting time.
Dean's Lunches
At least once a semester, members of the ASSAB are invited to sign up to have lunch with Dean Manderscheid. These lunches are designed to create a casual and open dialogue between the students and the Dean. Discussions often involve activities and issues relating to the college and to the lives of both the Dean and the students. This is a fun and valuable experience for both Dean Manderscheid and the students. Lunch is held in the Nebraska Union, and is provided by the ASSAB.
Teaching Assistant Award
Each Fall the ASSAB awards an outstanding Teaching Assistant in the College. Nominations are solicited from the student population, and reviewed by the TA Award Director. The award recipient receives a monetary award and is recognized in front of the College Faculty.
Committee Work
Members of the ASSAB hold seats on multiple committees in the College.
